As many old bathtubs have lost their original surface, this job should not be too difficult - however it must be done thoroughly.

If the surface is deeply pitted or rusted, treat the affected areas by sanding and applying a rust inhibitor if necessary. You can fill any dents or cavities using an epoxy-based filler (i.e. car body Bondo). Masking tape is provided to protect the overflow and drain outlets. It is advisable to remove and fit a new drain/outlets after applying Tubby as this way, you can apply Tubby on the surface under the drain outlet and then fit your new drain with fresh plumber's putty.

The two-part TUBBY coating is then mixed and half is applied using the special moltoprene roller included in the kit. Any awkward areas, (i.e. around the drain) are coated using the paint brush. The self-leveling paint will become touch dry after about an hour. The rest of the coating is then applied using the second roller head. Clear, simple instructions are provide inside every kit.

One kit will cover a 5ft bathtub or basin, toilet exterior and bidet. Approximately 30 square feet total coverage. It contains everything you need to do the job from start to finish: coating, hardener, cleaning powder, sponge, sandpaper, masking tape, faucet covers, paintbrush, 2  moltoprene roller heads, roller handle, paint tray, stirrer and instruction leaflet.
